A John Green book is like a disguised treasure hunt map that’s not fun. I’m sorry, but can we have another plot, please? I love Green’s name choices for his characters, like Colonel from Looking for Alaska and Radar from this one, but I do not love… them, and the way they’re weaved into this story which I can’t clearly picture. Maybe it’s just that the previous book I read was so awesome that no matter how awesome this one was supposed to be, it still fell short. I just didn’t feel this bringing in something “new” (Hello, one-night adventure was already successfully done in Nick and Norah, thank you), though, I must say, it still contained Green’s signature inneresting insights (which also made me feel a bit deja vu-ed, like I’ve-read-this-from-you-before kind of thing).
