#127 of 2011: Can You Keep A Secret by Sophie Kinsella
The Shopaholic series was helluva lot fun to read but I must say this is my favorite Sophie Kinsella novel. Chick lit is very formulaic and Kinsella has her ways as well, but her ways are just too fun to pass up as the other ordinary damsels-in-distress stories. In this novel, you get this imperfect girl to which almost every embarrassing thing you could think of happens. YET! Yet she still is able to get good things in life, like a man who’s a really good person. Don’t you think that’s just darling and well, inspiring? The story’s not v. exceptional plot-wise but with the injection of that signature British sense of humor, it’s just impossible to not to devour!
