#123 of 2011: Shopaholic Ties the Knot by Sophie Kinsella
Hmm, this was unexpectedly better than its predecessor! How is it that Becky Bloomwood - or rather, Sophie Kinsella - just can’t seem to run out (or away) from dilemmas?? While I honestly expected it to be rather contrived - as most chick lits are, I must congratulate Kinsella for having written this convincing story. Becky is as funny as ever, as priority-challenged as ever, as consistent as ever with her personality and decision-making. She DID have the biggest trouble in her life in this installment so far - having two wedding preparations at once, plus Luke’s personal (crazy) crisis - but she in the end managed to have her cake… and eat it, too, as they say. I just wished that there were more of Suze and Tarquin, though - I’m such a shipper of them two! And I want more of crazies Elinor and Alicia and THE “Walt Pitman,” who’s the new handler of the shopaholic’s finances in the next books - because I want more wacky problem-solving for Becky!
